SUEZ volunteers help keep another beach litter-free

On Saturday 17 October 2020, SUEZ recycling and recovery UK’s staff from across all operations in Cornwall, along with family and friends, enjoyed a wonderful morning on Polzeath beach helping to keep the shorelines clean and tidy.

This is the fourth successful SUEZ4Ocean beach clean held in Cornwall and we were delighted to see over 40 volunteers giving up their time to collect plastic waste and rubbish littered.

SUEZ teams in Cornwall teams have previously carried out beach cleans at Perranporth, Mawgan Porth and Par beaches. Working with our local Health and Safety Advisor, Alex Nichols, we made sure COVID-19 safety measures were in place and that staff remained in their home or work bubbles. Alex said: “It was really great to see so many staff keeping safe and helping to make a difference to our environment.”

Senior Community Liaison Manager, Natalie Chard, added: “We have a stunning coastline and it’s important we all play our part to protect it and prevent damaging sea pollution. I would like to thank everyone who took part as every piece of litter we picked not only spoils our local environment but could have ended up in our oceans for many years to come.”
