Cornwall energy recovery centre | Operational update

The planned maintenance of the energy recovery centre is now in the final stages. Over the next couple of days, the two lines of the energy recovery centre will be brought back on line ready to start processing Cornwall’s waste.

During the re-start process, low pressure steam will be released from the facility until the steam reaches the correct pressure to pass through the air cooled condenser fans. As such, you may see steam coming from the facility at intervals accompanied by low level noise as the steam is released. Once the facility is operating and producing the required steam, specialist engineers from the turbine supplier will re-commission the turbine to allow electricity to be exported again and we will update you further when this happens.
