Cornwall energy recovery centre – Operational update

We experienced temporary disruption to the facility’s steam turbine operation at around 11am this morning (Friday 22 June 2018). The turbine tripped as designed resulting in some steam being released via controlled bypass and noise associated with this.

The two lines of the energy recovery centre are being brought back on line over the course of the next day. During this process, low pressure steam will be released from the facility until the steam reaches the correct pressure to pass through the air cooled condenser fans. As such, you may see steam coming from the facility at intervals accompanied by low level noise as the steam is released.
